Chaysea Tay’s Hopes and Dreams for 2021

In 2020, with the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, I learned, no matter how much the world tries to hold you back, always continue with the belief that what you want to achieve is possible. Believing you can become successful is the most important step when we face challenges.

I am truly grateful to be entrusted and elected to be JCI Pearl President. With a sincere heart to serve in an NGO and dare to be different, we did many good projects and great achievements in 2020. One year to lead is not the end of my journey in this organization. I will continue to serve my beloved organization with a different role, to assist the new leaders and team in building and growing the organization for another synergy. Meanwhile, in 2021, I am passionate to continue contributing to the community, perhaps to join other NGOs or agencies that also emphasize servicing the community and organization. As quoted by Mahatma Gandhi, “Be the change that you wish to see the world.” We must always start from ourselves and invite others to join us create a positive impact in the community.

We all want to feel loved in our daily life by friends, families, colleagues, siblings, partners, etc.  But I believe the key to feeling loved is actually to love myself first. In 2021, I would like to have a healthier lifestyle. I have to start again to make time for more workouts and exercise. Instead of meeting friends for dinner, lunch, or high tea, I plan to meet them for hiking or jogging to keep myself motivated to have a healthy lifestyle together with people that I love. Meanwhile, I plan to continue to join more virtual training and courses to have personal improvement, especially new skills, marketing strategies in the new norm. Besides, I will continue to read more books to be a role model to my daughter. Guide and encourage her to read more books.

In 2020, I spent most of my time at home due to the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2021, I wish to continue spending time with my family, strengthen my relationship with them. It is time to plan for a short vacation with family, at least a Cuti-Cuti Malaysia trip. I am very thankful to be blessed with such a loving family who is very supportive of me in one and other ways.
